Hello everyone.
As this is my first "Blog" it will take me a while to get it down pat so please bare with me. The mission of this site will be to share my gardening experiences here in Dallas with anyone else interested. I have been gardening the same yard for 30 years now. I started with plants from Wolfe Nursery as I worked at several of the Dallas area stores right out of college (B.S. Ornamental Horticulture Texas Tech). It has gone through numerous bad winters and summers, has cotton root rot (killed a few trees with it!) and the front part is under strain from loose cats and dogs and neighbors who have little sense of appropriateness. Anyhow, I have finally come to a time in my life when I have more spare moments to garden and have undertaken the process of slowly removing most of the grass and replacing it with natives and vegetables. I have several methods of composting going on in back, including a solarization project starting in my alley. Oh, and I have a very active sheltie and a rat terrier mix who think that anything and everything in the yard is theirs to play with! Fun huh!
